| Belshaw (1993): Pupates within the spun leaves of the host.
Hosts: a wide range of stem-boring and concealed microlepidoptera. In Britain: Choreutidae - Anthophila fabniciana (NHM on nettle; 3 in Ford & Shaw, 1991). Gelechiidae - Hypatima rhomboidella (Ford & Shaw, 1991). Oecophoridae -Agonoptenix uliceteila on Ulex minor (Ford & Shaw, 1991). Pterophoridae -Pterophorus pen tadactyla (UMM). Tortricidae - Acleris aspersana (Emden, 1954), Acleris rufana (Ford & Shaw, 1991), Acleris logiana (UMO), Aphelia vibunnana on Pious contorta or Abies pnocera (Winter, 1974), ?Archips podana on Laburnum (UMM), Croesia bergmanniana (Emden, 1954), Cydia gemmiferana (NHM), Ditula angustiorana on Malus (Hey, 1935), Endothenia pullana (NHM), Lozo-taenia forsterana (Ford & Shaw, 1991), Pandemis corylana (Matthey, 1967) on Quercus (Cheng, 1967), Pandemis cenasana on Quercus robur (UMO), Ptycholoma lecheana on Quercus nobur (UMO),. Tortnix vinidana (NHM; 3 UMO on Quercus robur). Also from unidentified hosts on Hedena and Spinaea salicifolia.
British distribution: England, Wales, S.Scotland (Selkirk*), N.Scotland and Ireland (Kerry*).
Flight period: end of May to late August, peaking late June and early August (at least 50 records). |
| Tschorsnig (1994): Europe to Scandinavia; SH NS NW HE RP BW BY NB / A CH. Deciduous woodland bushes. Early May to End September at least 2 generations. On foliage or in Malaise traps; not rare. Numerous Tortricidae (especially Tortrix) rarer from a few other Microlepidoptera. |
